How can I calculate my sleep efficiency?
To calculate your sleep efficiency, you will need a sleep tracker. It’s also a good idea to keep a sleep diary when calculating sleep efficiency so that you can get an average value over a certain time period (i.e. a month).
Am I getting enough sleep?
Probably not. The average adult in the UK gets less than the recommended amount of sleep each night. We’ve written about how much sleep you should be getting and an easy test you can do yourself to find out if you are getting enough sleep here.
Is Sleep Restriction Therapy for everyone?
No, SRT is not for everyone. If you think you might have a significant health problem, or a sleep disorder such as sleep apnoea, consult your doctor before starting on SRT. SRT should not be tried by pregnant women or young children.
You can find out more about SRT here.
